A Holistic understanding of Assessments
The most essential attribute of a teacher is EMPATHY, not subject expertise. Also, to realize that duties like attendance and assessment are administrative tools and requirements and not the markers of "learning". Our educational system has given lay teachers (often fresh graduates) the feeling that fulfilling subject delivery and administrative requirements is the limit of one's duties.
Good results are not the natural outcome of "administration teaching", but of caring like a gardener. Assessments are a continuous process for a teacher, for the growth path of every students, sometimes trascending semesters or other administrative boundaries, while bearing in mind the cultural and social circumstances.
A holistic understanding of assessments, can help teachers a lot by easing the admninstrative pressure on them and respecting their human and knowledge side. Also, helping the students immensely by turning the focus on learnning and growing and being truthful to effort, while meeting the administrative requirements being a by-product.
