The Politics of Technology - How Materials use Architects

Description

Inverting the orthodox notion of architects using technology, this lecture tries to see Architecture itself as a tool, in the hands of Time, building as per the best Technology and materials available. This is often most effectively demonstrated in the most useful structures or the iconography of the builidings housing the most powerful, hence Architecture / Design becomes a political tool. The fact that in modern times, there is a nexus between building material production & sales and building design & specification for private profit, makes this even more woefully apparent.
