The Tired Yoddha
The Tired Yoddhaa
I have had some aims, my ‘self’ to prove
Off the beaten track, the running groove
And I have worked hard, often uncaring
Of quicker gain and better faring
But whence and whither, standing here
Along amongst the near and dear
I feel thwarted and tired now
Of the ‘what-to-do’ the when and how
“What? Already?”, I hear you say
Admonishing in near dismay
“With nought to fear and yet to live
So much to take, and much to give?”
Oh Yes! One is entitled to dejection
Upon effort, to desire, rejection
The point is now of the impetus
Lost in failures and mere fuss
It is the ‘why’ that now haunts me
After the ‘what’ that ever taunts me
Thus far have I come and this I have learnt
The distance traversed and the fuel burnt
Are not equal and do not measure
The time we spend and dreams we treasure
Thus, I shan’t rest, and will ‘endure’
It's my human lot, mortal but sure
Suffer every desire and live every day
Till all at once, wither away.
